Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Block if necessary although it is generally better to run/roll/dive out of the way. Lancers for instance are not to "counter" this attack unless its the horn-uppercut as that attack can still hit if they counter the "charging" segment of this attack. Players with precise timing which are at a good distance can roll through the charge and evade the horn-uppercut along with it. The best way in general however is to keep a close eye on whether this attack is going to be curved or straightforward and run out of the way accordingly.

Headbutt Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal
The Alatreon will quickly raise his head and then lunge forward in an attempt to hit whatever is in front of him. During this attack the arms can also deal damage may the head have missed the Hunter.
Rage
Rien à ajouter.
Manœuvre d'évasion

Block if necessary/possible or run/roll/dive out of the way (sideways). It is not advised to attempt rolling through this attack as the duration is just simply too long and will result in the player getting hit anyhow. The best way to stay save from this attack is by making sure you are nowhere near the head or front arms at all times.

Claw Swipe Ailment Inflicted: Dragonblight
Normal
The Alatreon will turn approximately 90 degrees while swinging his front arm in a horizontal fashion at whatever is close to him. This attack can be performed both clockwise (left arm) and counter-clockwise (right arm) and is usually done twice in a row. Can occur more often than just twice in a row though. This attack is also often followed up by either a fireball or a headbutt. Once again the tail is also included in the hitbox and will make the Hunter trip if he/she gets hit by it.
Rage
Rien à ajouter.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Block if necessary/possible or run/roll/dive out of the way. Diving isn't recommended though as, like said above, it can be followed up by a fireball/headbut which could lead to the player getting hit before they get up after diving. The best way to stay safe from both the claw swipe and the potential attacks that can follow this attack up is by keeping a distance about the size of Alatreon's neck (at the least) and stay on the move in a sideway fashion.

Jumping Bodyslam Ailment Inflicted: None/Fireblight
Normal

The Alatreon will jump backwards into the air and then dive at the Hunter. This attack can both be curved 90 degrees and performed multiple times in a row. It also causes a firepillar to erupt where the Alatreon landed which causes fireblight if the Hunter gets hit by it.

This is a relatively fast attack which occurs without any preceding warning signs and the hitbox lasts until the moment the Alatreon stops sliding as a result of the quick dive towards the ground.

Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Block if necessary/possible or run/roll/dive out of the way. It is best to run sideways and roll/dive just in case as this attack has a slightly wider hitbox than one would expect. The best way to stay safe from this attack is merely by anticipating this attack at all times and staying on the move, running anywhere but in front of the Alatreon to either side.

Fireball Ailment Inflicted: Fireblight
Normal

The Alatreon will stand where he is, or, in some cases, take a step back, raise his head while readying the fireball and then shoot it when he flings his head down to the front. During this attack the legs are included in the hitbox.

The fireball itself consists of 2 parts which both count as individual attack segments. Mid-air and the moment it hits the ground. While in mid-air the fireball will require the "Guard Boost" skill to be blocked, as soon as it hits the ground it will explode into a fiery tornado which expands and covers a rather wide radius and during this part of the attack Guard Boost is not required for it to be blocked.

The fireball can cover 3 different ranges, far, medium and right in front of the Alatreon's face. It is important not to close the distance in advance as it may result in the player getting hit in case it turns out to be a close-range fireball.

This attack can be performed multiple times in a row.

Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
If you have the Guard Boost skill, you can carelessly block this attack, if not, do not block this attack when close to the Alatreon. If blocking is no option, run/roll/dive out of the way. The best way to stay safe from this attack though is by preventing yourself from being anywhere in front of the Alatreon, doesn't matter if it's close or a medium distance away.

Jumping Fireball Ailment Inflicted: Fireblight
Normal

The Alatreon will bend backwards, raise his head while readying a fireball and shoot the fireball the moment he jumps away.

In MHP3rd the Alatreon will often perform a taunt after this attack.

Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Same goes here as for the regular fireball.

Element Switch Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal
The Alatreon will stand where he is and violently swing his head a few times, as if he is shaking something off and then just scream. When he does this he is changing his elemental mode and gains electrical sparks on its head. The head can damage the Hunter and send him flying while it is shaken sideways and when he lunges forward and starts to scream.
Rage
Rien à ajouter.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Block if necessary/possible if you find yourself close in front of him, if not, roll/run/dive out of the way if you can't block but are in range. This "attack" can easily be avoided by just making sure you're nowhere near the head at all times. While doing this the Alatreon is also open to attacks for a considerable (relatively spoken) amount of time, so use this opening to whatever you want.

Roar Ailment Inflicted: None/Fireblight
Normal
The Alatreon will raise himself so he stands on his legs and roar. This roar causes multiple firepillars to erupt which can damage and inflict fireblight upon the Hunter if hit.
Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Block if you can or roll/dive through this attack. The roar doesn't require any Evasion+ skills to be rolled though, so players without evasion increasing armor skills can still defend themselves even when not able to block by timing their roll precisely.

Ground - Air Spinning Jump Ailment Inflicted: Thunderblight?
Normal
The Alatreon will stand on his hind legs while screaming and encasing him in a blue electrical aura, spin arround and jump into the air, going airborne.
Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
If you are within range and can block, do so, if you can't then run/roll/dive out of the way. Keeping a reasonable distance all times however will keep you safe from this move though.

Dans les airs.

Tail Swing Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal
The Alatreon will diagonally snap at the Hunter with his head and then, while spinning, follow the attack up with a horizontal tail swing that send the Hunter flying if hit.
Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Block if possible/necessary or run/roll/dive out of the way. The best way to stay safe from this attack however is by keeping a distance that is at least the size of the tail.

Lightning Glide Ailment Inflicted: Thunderblight
Normal
The Alatreon will assume a linear pose and quickly glide forward while encasing himself in blue electrical currents. This attack creates Dragon Wind which knocks the Hunter over if he/she gets hit by it.
Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Block if possible/necessary or run/roll/dive sideways to get out of the way. By staying on the move in a sideway fashion however you can pretty much guarantee you won't get hit by this attack.

(Multiple) Lightning Pound Ailment Inflicted: Thunderblight/Fireblight
Normal

The Alatreon will charge up electric currents in both of his arms, ascend slightly while bending downwards and then rush towards the Hunter and slam the ground with both his arms, causing a firepillar to erupt on the spot. This attack can be performed once but also 3 and 4 times in a row as 1 attack and on top of that, the triple Lightning Pound can also be performed multiple times in a row.

There are different patterns for the different amounts of times it gets performed in a row. The singular and triple ones are lock-on smashes, while during the quadruple one the Alatreon will smash forward/sideways/forward/sideways, not really aiming for the Hunter.

Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Block if you absolutely have to but if you don't have to, keep running and rolling if necessary. Do not dive the first pound if it turns out to be a lock-on as doing so will result in the next attack still hitting you. If you notice that he does 2 smashes in row that are both lock-on you can safely dive through the 3rd. In case of the quadruple smash just make sure you get out of the way during any of the smashes and then you can, if in the right spot by then, basically do nothing and watch the Alatreon continue the attack or reposition yourself to get a hit or two on him.

Ice Projectiles Ailment Inflicted: Iceblight
Normal
The Alatreon will hover backwards and shoot an ice pillar towards the Hunter. This attack has only 1 segment, unlike some of the variations to this attack.
Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Block if possible/necessary or run/roll/dive out of the way although preventing yourself from being directly in front of the Alatreon and staying on the move in a sideway fashion.

Ice Breath Ailment Inflicted: Iceblight/Snowman
Normal
The Alatreon will hover forward while releasing a ice breath that freezes the ground and anything else it hits. It causes both Iceblight and the Snowman status if the Hunter gets hit.
Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion

Glacial Storm Ailment Inflicted: Iceblight
Normal Mode
The Alatreon will hover on 1 spot for a second, raise his head while making a stirring sound and cause multiple ice pillars to rain from the Heavens onto the ground, creating temporary ice-formations on the ground.
Rage Mode
Rien à ajouter.
Manœuvre d'évasion

Block if possible/necessary or run/roll/dive out of the way may they turn out to be summoned above you. The best way to stay safe from this attack however is by getting close to the Alatreon while he is summoning, close as in close-to-directly under him/where he is hovering as the ice pillars will never fall where he is at that moment.

While summoning the Alatreon is completely exposed to attacks for a brief moments, so Hunters should take advantage of this opening and try to ditch out as much damage as they can in the 2–3 seconds they get.

Grand Glacial Storm Ailment Inflicted: Iceblight
Normal

The Alatreon will make a stirring noise and then fly high up into the air, to a corner of the area, far out of reach of bullets and summon a huge amount of ice pillars. Most of them fall on random spots in the area while at the same time a few ice pillars will target 1 player and follow him wherever he/she goes.

The spots where the ice pillars will fall will have a small round black shadow for about 1–2 seconds before the ice pillar hits the ground.

Rage Mode
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Block is possible/necessary but do not rely on this at all costs as you are likely to get hit many times in a row, completely draining your stamina and still dealing full damage in the end. The best thing to do is to keep an eye on the shadows on the ground and keep moving. Do not dive at all costs though as there will be multiple ice pillars that follow you and by diving out of one of them the next one is highly likely to still hit you.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd

Au sol.

Double Horn-Uppercut Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal
The Alatreon will perform a double uppercut with his horns that sends the Hunter up into the air if it hits. The Alatreon moves forward while doing this. This attack is performed without any preceding warning signs and can occur after any of his other attacks.
Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Block if necessary or roll/dive out of the way. Rolling isn't really recommended though as this attacks consists of 2 parts, meaning that if the 1st uppercut is evaded the 2nd one can still hit the Hunter may he/she have rolled into the wrong direction so the best way to stay save from this attack is to either avoid sticking around the head at a close range in a front/diagonal line or by simple keeping a small distance between you and the Alatreon.

Lightning Summon Ailment Inflicted: Thunderblight
Normal

A variation of the fireball attack where the Alatreon will basically perform the same move while in his "Thunder Mode", causing Lightning to strike all around and even under him instead of shooting a fireball. This attack has a wide area of effect.

The places where the Lightning will streak will light up blue before it hits the ground.

Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Block if possible, if not, run/roll/dive out of the path the Lightning will strike. The best way to stay safe from this attack however is by not sticking too close to the Alatreon and keep moving. Do not try to attack the Alatreon while he is executing this attack as the Lightning will strike everywhere around him.

Dragon Ground-Air Spinning Jump Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal
Basically a Dragon-Elemental version of the normal Ground-Air spinning jump the Alatreon executes under normal circumstances to go airborne, except that this time around the Alatreon will not go airborne.
Rage
This attack becomes more common although it remains a move that is rarely performed.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Block if you have to or roll/run/dive out of reach. The best way to prevent yourself from getting hit by this attack though is by keeping a small distance from the Alatreon at all times. A distance at leas the size of his tail.

Taunt Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal
The Alatreon will lower his head and roar, "taunting" the Hunter.
Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Not applicable, this move does not deal any damage, it only gives the player an opening to attack/recover or do anything else he/she wants.

Airborne

Multi-Ice Projectile Ailment Inflicted: Iceblight
Normal

The Alatreon will not shoot 1 but 3 ice pillars from his mouth at the same time. Other than that the move is basically the same as the singular ice projectile.

This attack consists of 2 parts like the fireball though, the ice pillar in mid-air and the moment it lands both count as individual fragments of the attack and therefore it can occur a player still gets hit even when blocking them while they're in mid-air.

Rage
Nothing worth mentioning.
Manœuvre d'évasion
Block if necessary, although keep in mind that this attack consists of 2 parts as mentioned above. If blocking is not possible, run/roll/dive out of the way. The best way to stay safe from this attack however is by preventing yourself from being in a direct line in front of the Alatreon.

Variations des attaques dans MHP3rd

  • After a charge the Alatreon's recovery time is much slower than in MH3, leaving it open to attacks considerably longer.
  • When shooting a fireball Alatreon's recovery time is also a lot slower than in MH3, leaving its head open to attacks much longer than before.
  • Alatreon's head reaches a lower point when turning than in MH3, allowing it to be hit while it is turning after performing an attack.
  • The headbutt has become more of a lock-on type of attack, allowing the Alatreon to hit players even when they aren't directly in front of him.
  • After a jumping fireball and when flashed the Alatreon can perform a taunt, which leaves it open to attacks for a small period of time.
  • When switching elements the change of body color becomes a lot more prominent.
  • All Dragon-Elemental attacks do not inflict Dragonblight anymore as it has been removed.
